Case Study: How DMC Technology Group Designed and Manages the IT Infrastructure at Toledo’s Innovation Post

Overview

Located in downtown Toledo, The Jefferson Center, now known as The Innovation Post, has evolved from a single-tenant technology facility into a vibrant home for more than a dozen growing companies. With this transformation came new challenges: how to manage complex IT infrastructure, ensure secure and reliable connectivity, and support the diverse needs of multiple tenants, all within one 110,000-square-foot building.

When SVN Ascension Commercial Realty assumed facility management responsibilities, they needed an IT partner capable of designing a flexible, future-ready network while maintaining daily operational stability. They turned to DMC Technology Group.

The Challenge

The building’s original infrastructure was designed for a single occupant. As the space transitioned into a multi-tenant environment, the existing systems could no longer meet the varying bandwidth, security, and networking requirements of thirteen distinct organizations. Each tenant had different levels of technical sophistication, software usage, and data sensitivity, making unified management a complex task. Not to mention getting it all done quickly.

SVN Ascension needed a partner who could:

  • Redesign and modernize the network infrastructure
  • Provide dependable internet and internal connectivity across multiple suites
  • Offer responsive, on-site IT support
  • Manage day-to-day operations while minimizing downtime and disruptions

The Solution

DMC Technology Group began by conducting a full assessment of the building’s IT infrastructure. From there, the team:

  • Designed and implemented a scalable network architecture that could support current tenants and easily adapt as the building continues to grow.
  • Established secure and segmented connectivity for each company, ensuring performance and data protection.
  • Deployed managed IT services to handle proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance for the facility’s shared systems.
  • Provided local, hands-on support, allowing tenants to focus on their businesses while DMC handled the technical details.
“As Facility Managers, SVN Ascension Commercial Realty was looking for a company to manage the IT infrastructure in The Innovation Post. This 110,000 square foot building was originally designed to house a single technology focused tenant. It is now home to thirteen separate companies with varying IT needs. DMC was able to effectively and efficiently manage the diverse requirements of each tenant and handle the day to day IT operations of the entire facility. They are an excellent, locally based partner.”
