Building for the Future: How DMC Technology Group Transformed the Five Lakes Church IT Infrastructure

When Five Lakes Church set out to build its new home on Mitchaw Road, the leadership team approached the project with more than just a vision for a beautiful physical space—they were determined to invest in a smart, secure, and sustainable digital foundation that would serve their congregation well into the future.

After nearly 60 years at their previous location, Five Lakes Church made a bold leap into a new era—relocating to a 41,000 sq. ft. facility designed to serve their congregation for generations to come. This rare opportunity allowed them to rethink everything from the ground up, including a fully modernized, future-ready IT infrastructure.

After previous frustrations with another local IT provider at their former McCord Road facility, Five Lakes was looking for a partner who could not only deliver on today’s technology needs but could also lay the groundwork for tomorrow’s possibilities. That’s where DMC Technology Group came in.

A Ground-Up Approach to Technology

Too often, organizations wait until the end of a build or remodel to think about IT infrastructure—but Five Lakes took a different approach. They prioritized their network and security systems early in the planning process, which allowed for a seamless and intentional integration of technology into the overall facility design.

By thinking about infrastructure from the ground up, they avoided costly retrofits and ensured that every cable, access point, and firewall was placed with purpose. That proactive mindset supports not just functionality, but long-term stability, scalability, and security—key elements for any organization looking to future-proof its operations.

A Network Designed to Support their Mission

Five Lakes Church relies heavily on connectivity. From live-streaming services and multimedia presentations to wireless check-in systems for families and administrative cloud tools, technology is woven into nearly every aspect of their ministry.

To ensure optimal performance, we also conducted pre- and post-installation wireless surveys to identify any blind spots and guarantee strong signal strength across the entire campus.

“DMC’s vision is for every customer to experience improved efficiencies, competitiveness, and higher profitability through our collaboration. I am proud of the accomplishments of our team and look forward to continued support of our community, in all settings where they gather to work, worship, or play.”

A Trusted Team Effort

No infrastructure project is complete without strong partners, and for this project, DMC collaborated with our trusted colleagues at S&L Cabling. Their team expertly installed all new fiber and network cabling and handled the physical installation of the wireless access points, ensuring everything was clean, efficient, and code-compliant.

This kind of collaboration is key to delivering technology that works as well behind the scenes as it does for the end user.

A Safer, More Sustainable Future

By building their IT infrastructure intentionally from day one, Five Lakes Church set themselves up for success—not only for today’s needs but for whatever tomorrow brings. A well-planned, properly installed infrastructure helps reduce technical debt, minimize future disruption, and create a more sustainable path forward as technology continues to evolve.

Security is also a long-term consideration. While Five Lakes hasn't yet needed active network support, we’ve already put measures in place to keep them protected. Our agreement for ongoing firewall management, patching, and monitoring ensures their digital environment remains secure, up-to-date, and compliant.

Scalable Expertise—From Churches to Corporations

This project is a great example of how DMC Technology Group supports clients of all sizes. Whether you’re building a new house of worship or managing a multi-site enterprise with complex networking needs, our team has the knowledge, tools, and experience to deliver—from small-scale builds to full-scale enterprise deployments.

We pride ourselves on delivering the same level of care, expertise, and strategic thinking—no matter the project size. Our goal is always to help organizations build IT environments that are resilient, secure, and ready for the future.

Building Trust Through Results

At DMC Technology Group, we believe that a strong partnership starts with listening—and ends with delivering results that exceed expectations. We’re proud to have helped Five Lakes Church build a reliable, secure infrastructure from the ground up, and we look forward to being a trusted resource for their team in the years to come.
